RAISE LIVES STORY
It’s been almost eight years since I started blogging. What began as a way to pass time during library hours in my college days has now grown into something much more. Back then, I didn’t know much about blogging; I simply uploaded some pictures and published them. Eventually, I felt the need to express my thoughts about those images, and that’s how it all began.
When I started my theological studies, I had many new experiences here in Kolkata and at my theological college. I wanted to share these experiences, so I created a free blog on WordPress, which you all know: www.danieljustine.home.blog.
The first blog I shared was titled "Seminarian's Life." I received so many positive responses from my friends and family, which encouraged me to continue blogging. I was also surprised to see people accept me as a blogger.
As I began thinking about my next post, God guided me to create something that would be helpful for readers. So, I wrote a spiritual blog called "7 Tips for Spiritual Growth," where I shared my thoughts on building a relationship with God. That blog became the most viewed, and many readers shared their own life experiences in response. (I shared those responses in another blog called "Why I’m Blogging.") From that point on, I began blogging more regularly. Writing on various topics motivated me to read more, which helped me dedicate more time to study. I was truly happy to express my thoughts through blogging.
By God’s grace, I’ve been blogging ever since, and now, two years and seven months later, I’ve published nearly 60 posts, which have been viewed over 8,000 times by 5,000 visitors from different countries. I am incredibly grateful for God’s ongoing guidance and the support of my blog readers.
For a while, I considered purchasing a domain for my blog. I tried several times, but it just didn’t come together. Then, I began thinking about what name would best represent my blogging journey. Originally, I thought of using my name, but I decided against it. I wanted something that reflected the purpose behind my blog.
I even asked for suggestions on my social media platforms. While I received many ideas, most of the common domain names were already taken, and some were too expensive.
After considering all the suggestions, we finally chose a name for the website: "Raise Lives," with the domain ending in .in.
In December, we officially registered the domain "raiselives.in" through Google Domains.
Previously, we used a free WordPress subdomain, but now we have our own unique domain.
Our new blog address is www.RaiseLives.in.
The name "Raise" means to lift someone up, to improve their level, or to make them better and stronger. "Lives" is the plural form of life, referring to all living beings in the world. Together, the name reflects our mission: to help the weak and support people who want to grow spiritually and socially.
That’s why we’ve added the tagline: "Encourage one another and build one another up," inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
I’m excited to move forward with this new chapter in my blogging journey. Let the journey continue in encouraging and building each other up.
