JOYSOME JUNE
Bible Verse: "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." John 15:11
As we enter a new month, many of us carry different expectations, hopes, and concerns. Some look forward to new opportunities, while others step into the month with unanswered questions. In the midst of all these realities, Jesus gives us a beautiful promise: "My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete."
This verse reveals God's desire for our lives. He wants us to live with joy. Not just occasional happiness that comes and goes, but a deep and lasting joy that comes from Him.
Notice that Jesus says, "My joy." He is not talking about temporary excitement or happiness that depends on circumstances. Human happiness often changes with situations. We are happy when things go well and discouraged when they do not. But the joy of Jesus is different. It is eternal, steady, and rooted in God's love and presence.
This is why the Bible speaks so much about joy, even in times of suffering. Christian joy is not the denial of pain; it is the confidence that God is with us through every situation. It is an inner fulfillment that goes beyond human understanding. Even when life is difficult, God's joy can remain in our hearts.
The verse begins with the words, "I have told you this." Before promising joy, Jesus points us to His teachings. True joy is discovered when we listen to Him, learn from Him, and follow His ways. Joy is not something we create on our own; it grows as we walk closely with Christ.
As we begin this month, let us intentionally spend time learning from Jesus. Let us read His words, reflect on His teachings, and allow His truth to shape our hearts. The more we understand Him, the more we will experience the depth of His joy.
Jesus also speaks about complete joy. God does not want us to settle for a shallow or temporary joy. He wants us to experience a meaningful and complete joy that satisfies the deepest needs of our hearts. This joy is found in a relationship with Him and in living according to His purpose.
Therefore, let us enter this month joyfully. Let us not be controlled by temporary situations, worries, or disappointments. Instead, let us seek the joy that comes from Christ. Let us learn the depth of His joy, live in His joy, and share His joy with those around us.
May this month become a journey of discovering the fullness of God's joy. As we walk with Jesus, may His joy be in us, and may our joy be complete.
